An exploit in Overwatch ensures that the game and even your PC can crash. Many a villain shamelessly exploits this.

In Overwatch it can currently happen that your game crashes or you are kicked out of ongoing matches. This is often due to a teammate who spams a lot of emotes. So fast that it paralyzes the whole game and can even slow down your computer.

What’s that mistake? Basically, the error is only triggered when a teammate deliberately tries to cause it. The streamer Metro experienced this when suddenly the game started to stutter more and the latencies of all players skyrocketed.

The clip from Metro on Twitch has already been deleted.

The reason was that a player began to send voice commands at a breakneck speed, and in such a frequency that not only the game was slowed down, but the whole PC too. This then affects the whole team and can ensure that the match is canceled or the PC simply hangs up due to overload.

The streamer Stevo was also tormented by this problem when a junk council suddenly spammed the “Understood” voiceline over and over again:

How can you protect yourself against it? Preventive protection against this spam and the associated problems is practically impossible, unless you suspect all the players in advance. In a cooperative game like Overwatch, this is not very effective, because the team with the better communication often wins.

Should you have such a player in the match, quickly open the menu and block all voice commands from this player. You should also report the player and ideally put it on the “avoid this player” list.

In the normal way, it should be almost impossible to flood the game with so many voice commands that this error occurs. The exploiters obviously use macros or other software to send the commands at lightning speed.

Should you encounter such a player, report him — then the behavior clearly violates the terms of use and should quickly lead to the ban.

Quite apart from that, Blizzard is likely to be working in a hurry to fix the bug.
